Colin Comp #6

I might as well start counting these, sort of like the Pearls of Wisdom, right? This is our 6th suggestion for a lookalike for now-sophomore Crusader hoopster Colin Cunningham. A classmate of mine suggested this one to me months ago, but I didn't get around to posting it back then.

Vietnam-era John Kerry. Not too bad, 'eh?

In case you need a refresher, you can find the Ricky Nelson comp here, the Robbie Benson and Andy Kaufman comps here, and the Vinnie Barbarino and Dan Abrams comps here. And let's keep them coming!

As an aside, Colin strikes me as the men's basketball team "social director." Maybe Torey's occupied that role to some degree the last few years, but Colin is next in line. He's going to end up being the guy that figures out what the team's going to do after practice when they're on break, what movie they're going to watch while they're on the road, etc. Yesterday, Colin was sporting the aviator glasses and working the tunes during the basketball team's tailgate on the baseball field. You can tell he likes his music - Motown, Prince ("Kiss"), you name it. He seems to have a great personality and he'll be fun to watch, both on and off the court, while he's at Holy Cross.

Look-alike Catchup

It's been almost two months since we've posted an update on the Colin Cunningham lookalike topic. Colin's production on the court has tailed off, but that's not going to stop us from continuing to search for that certain famous person whom Colin resembles the most.

Per reader request, we're posting the side-by-side of Colin and 50's television and radio star Ricky Nelson. This is another one of which I had my doubts, but I must agree with sader1970 that there is a resemblance between Nelson and our favorite bushy-haired frosh from Memphis.

Man on the Moon?

It's been two weeks since Colin Cunningham debuted for the Holy Cross Crusaders, and what a quick, impressive span it has been.

At the time, I posted that his appearance reminded me of someone. Vinnie Barbarino? Dan Abrams? Well, we've since received a couple of suggestions.

Are these latest offerings even fair to the young Crusader? With his real-life haircut, the "bushy hair" comps aren't working as well, but I'll oblige those who made the suggestions.

70's TV star Robbie Benson. Those haircuts are almost identical. Colin needs to work on his cover-boy pout, but he made a solid effort.

The great, self-proclaimed "song and dance" man, Andy Kaufman. A wild suggestion from a veteran Crossports poster. This side-by-side turned out a little better than I thought it would. But there's zero resemblance in real life.

The quest continues...

CC Debuts for HC

Colin Cunningham, from Memphis, TN, made his Crusader basketball debut last night, as Holy Cross fell to the Cincinnati Bearcats, 77-55. Colin had a pretty good game in his initial appearance. He played 18 minutes, had four points and six rebounds, two assists to one turnover, plus a steal.

Non Alum Dave and I agree that Colin looks familiar. His appearance reminds of us someone, but we're not sure who. Dave seems to believe Colin looks like a current or former college player. I offered that it might be someone from the NBA.

Then I thought he resembled someone from television or the movies. Maybe Vinnie Barbarino?

Colin has since cut his mop top. I was watching MSNBC the other night, and former Court TV/O.J. Simpson reporter Dan Abrams was hosting a program. I think there's some resemblance there.

But I don't think either is dead-on. I'll take suggestions, though! Drop a comment if you know who Colin looks like.
