Well yesterday, it was The People Under the Stands. With 36 seconds to go in the first half of Lehigh's 28-14 win over HC, lightning was visible in the immediate area, and fans scattered out of the stands like rats, very quickly, and most gathered under the home grandstand for the next 45 minutes.
So who'd we see under the stands, anyway? Pretty much the same people who were in the stands to begin with, except you could actually recognize them without the big hats, ponchos and umbrellas.
We saw parents of football players. We saw many of the regular football diehard fans. We chatted with "Crossports" himself. We also saw Steve Silva.
CBS4/WBZ-TV anchor Scott Wahle was there, too. Found out he's a Holy Cross parent, and according to the HC Online Directory, his wife is a member of the Class of 1978. I didn't know Scott was another Boston TV personality with a connection to Holy Cross, joining former WCVB Channel 5 executive Paul LaCamera '64, along with current CBS4 colleagues Joe Bergantino '73 and Joe Shortsleeve '79. I'm sure there are others. Please drop a comment if you know of more!
I guess some would consider Dan Shaughnessy '75 a Boston TV personality, and maybe also current Celtics color analyst Tommy Heinsohn '56, but I'm thinking more of TV news anchors, reporters, and execs.

Lisa Hughes from Channel 4 is married to Mike Casey '90.
Peter Mehegan from Chronicle is the father of one of my classmates, Katie. She's married now.
A couple of former Channel 5'ers.
Clark Booth '61 - who I believe is now retired - did eloquent commentary for Channel 5 on significant stories of the day - be they sports or news - I think started as a Sports reporter.
Brian Leary '77 worked as a weekend sports reporter for Channel 5. He went to Harvard Law School (don't remember if he left Channel 5 while in school or worked part time) then came back or stuck around Channel 5 for another 10 or so years after law school as a sports then news anchor. I believe he is now practicing law in Boston.
One other oldie that I only remember for his days at Channel 56 but at one time was a big deal in Boston sports reporting from my understanding is Bob Gamere '62. Don't know much about him.
I thought of Brian Leary and was going to post a comment, but you beat me to it! I always liked him as an anchor. A real class act.
How about Brianne Mallaghan? Some of her Channel 3 reports have been picked up by NECN. She's not a HC grad (Syracuse) but she worked in the SID office for the last couple of years, until leaving over the summer.
Brianne is actually a Saint Anselm grad and got a Master's from Syracuse.
How about Doris Burke from ESPN? Her husband, Gregg (the new interim AD at URI) is an HC alumnus?
